Sometimes you just need a walk in the park. We get it.

Hampshire County really is a place for simple pleasures. Throw down a blanket and have a picnic. Walk your dog. Toss a Frisbee. Watch the clouds. Nod off as you pretend to read a book.

Whether your tastes are neat and manicured, or a little more feral, Western Massachusetts has you covered. From forested state parks with glittering lakes like the DAR State Forest, to sculpted community parks with flower gardens like Child’s Park, you’ll find it all in Hampshire County. Bring some grillables to Nonotuck Park, ride the train at Look Park or listen to the birdcalls at Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary. Even during winter you can soak up some greenery at the first, as far as we know, indoor hydroponic park in Easthampton.

We’ve got plenty of green space for you to stretch out and relax – so what are you waiting for?
