Okay, so we’re a little artsy-fartsy. We’ll own it.

We’ve got art of all kinds, from the jaw-dropping to the head-scratching. Here, you’re just as likely to see local paintings hanging in a hamburger joint as you are to see Warhol prints mounted in an exhibition gallery.

We get it – Western Massachusetts may not be the first place you think of when it comes to art. But we really do have it all! You’ll find museums galore that give you the chance to explore the old (historic art and artifacts), the modern (contemporary art and photography), and the playful (picture books). And we have working art studios where artists mold pottery and blow glass.

In Hampshire County, art also happens outside. Take a walk to soak up our murals, sculptures, and art installations sprinkled across the landscape.

Hampshire County is also known for our plays, musicals, dance performances and indepedent films. While things may look a bit different during the COVID-19 pandemic, we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy our independent movie theaters and live theater again soon!
