Hampshire County is a Winter Wonderland, and there is plenty to be excited about during this time of year. Natural beauty abounds, something that you can witness just about anywhere you go. Bundle up and get outside for one of our winter festivals, which feature entertainment, food, and more. If you’re feeling active, you can check out one of our area’s ice skating rinks, snowshoe trails, or visit a neighboring county for some of the best downhill skiing New England has to offer. Once you’re ready to warm up, there’s plenty happening inside, from Northampton Arts Council’s Four Sundays of arts performances to museum and art gallery browsing, hot tubbing, or lingering by fireplaces in cozy historic inns. Information on Four Sundays, including “The Really Big Gong Show” and a visit from Big Bird himself, Mr. Carroll Spinney, can be found on the Northampton Arts Council site. Press tickets are available for the events; please be in touch for more information.

And then there’s food. . .

Hampshire County loves its food and beverage and is a leader in farm-to-table dining, agriculture, beer brewing, and hospitality, just to name a few areas. Wine workshops, cocktail classes, and the incredibly tempting “Beer, Cheese, and Bread” at the Northampton Brewery are just a few of the ways to sample the region’s culinary passion. There are cooking classes, farm markets, and so much more to please your palate and to make for a delicious getaway from the everyday. Check out 7 Tasting Experiences in Western Massachusetts.
